Visuals - Parameters

From VersaVision Support

OVERVIEW

Parameters are only available on Widgets. This feature is used to make a Widget universal by allowing the user to define what is to be used.

An example of this would be setting a "Station Name" parameter to allow the user to provide the name of the station/location. This would allow the user to use 1 Widget for an infinite number of Dashboards.

Parameters can be accessed by clicking on the Parameters button.

This page show the options for a Parameter and Deleting a Parameters.

NAVIGATION

With a new or existing widget opened, click on the Parameters button.

A new Parameter Properties section will load on the page. There are 3 sections associated with a Parameter. Click on the down arrow in the Type Field.

There are 2 options available on the list - select the appropriate option for the Parameter being setup.

Tag - this option allows the user to select a Tag for the Parameter. This can be a Location, Monitoring Point or Combination.

Select the Name field to enter a name for the Parameter. This is what the user will see when using the Widget. Enter an appropriate name for the Parameter.

NOTE - a name must be uppercase letters or numbers. When a space is required, the user must use and underscore "_"

Select the Description field to enter a description for the Parameter. This is an optional field, please use when needed.

If the user selected the Type as TAG, they will see 5 options available. These options allow the user to minimize the number of Tags shown to the user.
