Child Alert - BSC

OVERVIEW


A Child Alert is an Alert that is a sub-category of the main Alert. The user can embedded a branch/choice within an Alert.

Example: Main Alert is Supervisor. The Child Alert is the individual Supervisor Names. This allows the user to create a specific Communication for each Child Alert so that on the person selected gets the message.

This page will provide information on the options available on a Child Alert on a BSC.

To access the Child Alert setup, the user will need to select Add Child Alert button on the Main Alert.

DUAL-STATE ALERT


Select the Main Alert under the Monitoring Points section.



Ensure Dual-State is selected as the Mode on the Alert Properties.



Select the Child Alert under the Main Alert under the Monitoring Points section.



Click in the Alert Name field on the Alert Properties.



Enter a name for this Child Alert. Click on the down arrow in the Mode field.
The example is showing a Child of a Supervisor Alert where and individual is being selected.



There will be 2 options shown in the Mode menu. Select the best option for the Alert being created.

On Start - selecting this option will allow the operator to see/select the Child Alert when the Main Alert is Set/Started.
On Clear - selecting this option will allow the operator to see/select the Child Alert when the Main Alert is Cleared/Ended.


Each Child Alert will have a Communications and Actions option available.

The example shown is a Supervisor Main Alert with 4 Child Alerts. Each Child Alert is an individual that the operator can select.

TRI_STATE ALERT


Select the Main Alert under the Monitoring Points section.



Ensure Tri-State is selected as the Mode on the Alert Properties.



Select the Child Alert under the Main Alert under the Monitoring Points section.



Click in the Alert Name field on the Alert Properties.



Enter a name for this Child Alert. Click on the down arrow in the Mode field.
The example is showing a Child of a Team Leader Alert where the Team Lead will select the department needed when Responding.



There will be 3 options shown in the Mode menu. Select the best option for the Alert being created.

On Start - selecting this option will allow the operator to see/select the Child Alert when the Main Alert is Set/Started.
On Respond - selecting this option will allow the operator/responder to see/select the Child Alert when the Main Alert is Responded/Acknowledged.
On Clear - selecting this option will allow the operator to see/select the Child Alert when the Main Alert is Cleared/Ended.


Each Child Alert will have a Communications and Actions option available.

The example shown is a Team Leader Main Alert with 3 Child Alerts. Each Child Alert is an individual department that the Team Lead can select.
