Visuals - Variables

Variables provide the user a way to query information from the system and display it in real-time. They can be setup on Widgets or Dashboards. Each Variable has a specific purpose or data it gathers.
This page will focus on the basic functionality of the Variables page - Adding, Deleting, Duplicating and Copy/Paste.
With a new or existing Widget/Dashboard opened, click on the Variables button at the top-right position above the layout.

To Add a new Variable, click on the Add New button.
A new Variable will show highlighted on the Variables List.
On the right side of the Variables List will be the Variable Properties menu. This is where the user will setup the required Variable for the Widget or Dashboard.
Select the link for the type of Variable needed:

When a Variable is setup/created it will show on the Variables list with the Name and Type.

To Delete/Remove a Single Variable, click on the 3-Dot menu on the Variable that needs to be removed.
Select Delete from the menu.
The Variable will be removed from the list.
To Delete/Remove Multiple Variables, click on the Multi Select toggle switch to turn it on.
A checkbox will appear next to all Variables in the list. Click/Check the box next to the Variables that need to be removed.
When all of the selections have been made, click on the Delete button at the top of the Variables list.
All of the Variables that were selected will be removed from the list.

To Duplicate a Single Variable, click on the 3-Dot menu on the Variable that needs to be Duplicated.
Select Duplicate from the menu.
The Duplicated Variable will appear below the original Variable.

If there is a need to Copy Variables from one Widget/Dashboard and Paste them into a separate Widget/Dashboard, the user will need to turn on the Multi Select switch.
A checkbox will appear next to all Variables in the list. Click/Check the box next to the Variable(s) that need to be Copied.
Select the Copy button at the top of the list.
Once the Variables are Copied, the user can select the Paste button to add those Copied Variables to the current Widget/Dashboard.
To place the Copied Variables into separate/other Widget/Dashboard - exit the current Widget/Dashboard - open/create the other Widget/Dashboard - select Paste on the Variables list.
The Pasted Variables will appear on the Variables list in alphabetical order.
